BURAPHA UNIVERSITY
History
Burapha University is located near Bangsan
beach in Tumbon
Sansuk, Amphur Muang, Chonburi province.
The university compound is situated in eastern seashore development
estate, which is about
100-km.
Southeast from Bangkok.
The University was originally established from Bangsan Academy College in
1955. The college was the first academy in the region to provide education for
teachers at an undergraduate level. The college was directly supervised by the
Prasanmit Bangkok Academy, which later in 1984 had been accredited to
Srinakarintharawiroj University. Bangsan Academy College was one of the campuses
that further enhance faculties and academic courses apart from an education
area. In 1990, Eastern seashore development project was fully supported by a
government policy in producing more skilled personnel within the area. Thus, the
government has uplifted the college status to be an
independent university, which was later known as Burapha University.
Since then Burapha University has been expanding rapidly. In 1995,There
were more then 5000 students, 400 faculties and other 300 involved personnel.
The university had opened eight academic programs such as Graduate school,
Education, Engineering, Humanity, Social science, Art, Nursing, Public health,
and Science. Moreover, the university has performed high level researches and
service centers such as Naval Science Institution, Education Service Office,
Research and Development Institution and University Hospital. Presently, Burapha
University offers more than 40 undergraduate’s programs 22 master’s programs,
one doctoral program and various continuing programs in each year. The
university plans to offer more programs in a near future.
